Noah’s Ark
If not all, many of us aware of a story in Bible about Noah and the Ark (a large boat) that he built. It is interesting that, not long after God created the first human on earth, the world has gone bad.Bible records in Genesis 6:5 like this, “The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that ecverything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evitl”. In a “world gone wrong” situation, God decides to wipe out every living thing in the world, but Noah found favor with the Lord (Genesis 6:8)
So, Lord spoke to Noah and asked him to build an Ark (a large boat), large enough to fit Noah’s all family members and a pair of every animal, bird and small animal that scurries along the ground.
Fast forward, now after God has finished wiping out every living thing by flood waters, except those inside the Ark. it is estimated that roughly about 260 days Noah and his family is inside the Ark, with every kind of animal, bird. Imagine if we are in that situation, being patient and able to tolerate all the sounds and smell of its wastes from every one of the animal, bird.
Does it remind you of the situation that we are in now (COVID-19 lockdown) ? No, I’m not saying it’s all that bad, I do hear from others and believe that, being with our loved ones is good and there are many other good things. Needless to mention about bad things happening around us, whether it is the loss of our loved ones/friends, job loss, a looming recession, stress, etc. etc. Let’s accept that we are in a lockdown currently to co-operate with our government and for the well-being of our fellow citizens, community and for our country as whole.
But, our God is not going let us remain in the same situation forever, because our God is not only close the door behind us sometimes (Genesis 7:16), if He wants to, but also remembers us in due time, like He remembered Noah (Genesis 8:1)
Just like the way, the dove released by Noah returned with the olive leaf, we are going to see the olive leaf, a green sign if you will, soon in Jesus mighty, powerful name, Amen!!!!
